9th Shield K-9 Narcotic & Explosive Detection

At 9th Shield K9 we train our bomb & narcotic K-9s through realistic narcotic & explosive detection training. We use true real explosive materials in training, not simulated scents.

Each dog learns to detect the unique scent of different explosive materials. By the end of their training, our bomb dogs are able to detect approximately 27 different combinations of explosive materials — in trace samples and in bulk samples. Our narcotic dogs are able to detect from 6-8 different narcotics. For more information please call 866.489.3055.

As ‘passive-alert’ dogs, our bomb & narcotic dogs learn to signal the presence of anything suspicious by assuming an unassisted ‘sit’ position near a suspected explosive device or narcotics. During our explosive & narcotic detection dog training, we recreate realistic scenarios and situations bomb dogs are likely to encounter when they are working in the real world.

Our President Justin Metoyer participated in the 2018 & 2019 Murrieta Police Department First & Second Annual K-9 Trials.
Mr. Metoyer and Koda took 3rd place at the 2019 Trials in Narcotics Detection with over 100 K-9 Police Officers from over 40 different agencies from state and federal. A proud moment for the private sector at 9th Shield.
