With over 17 years of service in various law enforcement agencies, including Santa Monica PD, RTD, Banning, and Hemet, Leo left a lasting impact on the communities he served. Tragically, he passed away from cancer when his son, Justin Metoyer, was still a teenager.

Inspired by his father’s legacy, Justin has dedicated his life to private security and investigations, and even volunteers for the Hemet Police Department. To honor Leo’s memory and pay tribute to his life of service, Justin named his company “The 9th Shield,” in reference to Leo’s badge number. This company stands as a symbol of the dedication and commitment to protection that Leo embodied, and will continue to serve as a reminder of his legacy for years to come.
